The Hollywood lights just might be making a return to Mid-Michigan.
The Board of Water and Light's Eckert Power Plant is being considered as a possible filming location for the new installment of Transformers.
"I guess Michigan is just fantastic it's a great place to make a movie," said Dan Boyer, Celebration Cinema General Manager.
The Board of Water and Light's Eckert power station could be the next place seen on the big screen.
"We understand that they're considering," said Lansing Mayor Virg Benero. "They're scouting out locations including the Eckert power station. It's fascinating," said Benero.
The Eckert station is being looked at as a spot for the 5th movie in Transformers series, which is currently being filmed in Detroit.
Benero says the interest in filming at Eckert could help redevelop the plant after it shuts down, "it would be kind of cool to focus on that facility and get national attention potentially on that facility and it's gonna become available potentially as 2020."
While it won't be out until next summer the buzz has already started in theaters.
"We've already got some marketing up it as a matter of fact," Boyer said. "We've got a banner on the wall."
This isn't the first time action has been called in Mid-Michigan.
Scenes for Hugh Jackman's "Real Steel" were shot in Mason in 2010.
The remake for "Red Dawn" used Grand Ledge as a backdrop also in 2010 and of course "Batman v. Superman" in East Lansing during the fall of 2014.
"I think it's great that film makers want to make movies in the Lansing area. It's exciting," Boyer said.
Since the start of the franchise, it has made more than $3.7 billion dollars worldwide. Filming will wrap in September.
