Lawyers representing former Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar, aren't giving up their fight to get his sexual abuse trial pushed back and moved out of Mid-Michigan.

Nassar's lawyers filed several motions Friday, citing the "#MeToo" tweet by Olympic gold medalist McKayla Maroney and the widespread media attention it received, as one reason he can't get a fair trial.

Maroney, 21, tweeted a statement Wednesday saying she was molested by Nassar when he worked as a doctor for USA Gymnastics. Maroney said the abuse started when she was 13-years-old and continued until her retirement from the sport last year.

Nassar's attorneys have tried unsuccessfully to push back his Ingham County trial. Last week Judge Rosemarie Aquilina denied a motion to move and postpone the trial.

A hearing on the latest motions has been set for November 3.
