Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum announced Wednesday she will be hiring 75 people to help with the presidential recount. Green Party nominee Jill Stein requested the recount Wednesday afternoon. Byrum says her office has been preparing for several days.

Byrum hopes to hire 75 people so she can have 50 working at a time. Shifts will run 8 a.m. to 7p.m. from December 2 through December 12. Workers will be paid $125 per day. Job candidates do not need to be available every single day but they must be able to work full 11-hour shifts. The counting will be done in the main area of the Ingham County Fairgrounds.

People who want to apply should email the following information to inghamclerk@ingham.org:

- First and last name
- Email address
- Cell phone number
- Party affiliation
- If they served as a poll worker or challenger on election day, and if so, which one

Ingham County will be one of the hub counties for the recount when it starts on December 2. Clinton, Eaton, Jackson and Livingston Counties will have staff present to observe the process before starting their own recounts.
