A Lansing couples home has been a Halloween attraction for years, until someone stole decorations from their front yard over the weekend.

William Russell has been decorating his house for the holidays for past five years. He likes giving the kids of his neighborhood something to enjoy while they wait for the bus stop.

"I know a lot of them would like to have decorations up. They just don't have them in their yard or their parents don't want to do it. So I just give them something to enjoy," said Russell.

He noticed over the weekend that some of his Halloween decorations were damaged and missing. At first he blamed the wind, but soon realized the decorations were too heavy to blow away and someone stole them from his front yard.

"Kind of looking around seeing if I can find it somewhere, and it was nowhere to be found and then I got to thinking that there is no way it could have blown away," says Russell

William spent the last two weeks working on the display and plans on adding to it.

"You know I have eight more figures in the house that I really don't want to put outside if people are going to run off with them," said Russell.

FOX 47 News spoke with a surrounding neighbor who noticed just this morning that some of their decorations had been vandalized and tried to be taken down. When talking about the situation she asked to stay anonymous.

"There's not a lot of decorations this year. Halloween is for the kids..Its not for someone to be coming onto my property and vandalizing. It should be enjoyable," she said.

William is frustrated that all of his hard work is being wasted and wants to warn others to anchor down their decorations this season.

"Am I just wasting my time doing this for the kids or is people going to leave my stuff alone? If you want to put something out make sure it is anchored down and someone isn't going to take it," he said.

**UPDATE:
We received an email from Russell stating a note has been placed on his door giving the make, model, and licence plate number of the alleged thief. We will keep tracking this story for you.
