Lansing Everett Athletic Director and Football Coach Chad Foster resigned from his position last month, following an investigation into an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Lansing School District spokesman Bob Kolt says Foster resigned on November 15th. Records from an internal investigation show Foster's relationship with a 17-year-old female student violated the Board of Education's policies.

The records show Foster bought the student things, sent her texts, spent time with her outside of school, and took her out to dinner, among other things.

The Lansing Police Department opened an investigation into the relationship to determine whether Foster broke the law. The report was sent to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, which decided not to file criminal charges.
