Auto supplier Gestamp has announced plans to hire 235 workers at its plants in Mason and Chelsea.

The company based in Madrid, Spain is getting a $1.175 million grant from the state.

In return it will invest $158 million to expand the Mason plant and build a new facility in Chelsea.

Gestamp has not said how many jobs will go to each one.

Both cities will be offering property tax breaks.

It chose Michigan over sites in Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.
