Unclean conditions at the firm where the steroid shots were made are being tied to the recent meningitis outbreak.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick says he's ordered state pharmacy regulators to conduct surprise inspections at companies similiar to the New England Compounding Center, to tighten oversight.

NECC's operating license may also be revoked, as cases are continuing to grow.

There are 69 cases in Michigan, and six deaths. The CDC says there are 308 cases nationwide.
