The Detroit Lions have announced a $100 million renovation to Ford Field, which will include new video boards.

The stadium's sound system will be upgraded, as well as The Corner Lounge, stadium suites and the premium club areas.

“After 15 years, we still hear what a great venue Ford Field is from our fans, visiting teams and the great acts that have performed here,” said Detroit Lions Team President Rod Wood in a news release. “The Ford Family is making a substantial investment to make sure our stadium remains among the best, but ultimately it’s still about winning football games. We want to get fans in the building having a great time and excited about what they’re experiencing so that they can continue to help us create a home field advantage.”

The centerpiece of the renovation will be two new main video displays that will be twice the size of the current displays. They will be placed in each end zone and will be flanked by four additional displays that will be used individually or coordinated with the main display.

Other displays will also be installed on columns, near Gate A and the main seating bowl.

The renovation will also include a new state-of-the-art sound system, complete renovations of the suites, redesign and re-branding of The Corner Lounge, a new concept club without assigned seating, new spaces for suite and club members on the north side of the stadium and Fully updated club space featuring Loge box seating.

A website has been launched to show off the renovation plans.

The renovations are planned to be completed in time for the 2017 season.
