Several of the 'Occupy Lansing' protesters cleared out of Ruetter Park Thursday morning, one person who stayed told us plans for a group dinner in the park fell through when the county health department shut down their kitchen this week. Leaving the protesters to eat with family or find a church for dinner.
"We were going to have a large Thanksgiving event hosted by one of the union halls, to invite the community to have Thanksgiving with us, but that became impossible with the strange interpretations of the county health commission."
The Ingham County Health department closed Occupy's kitchen because their food wasn't being properly prepared, making at least one person sick. The department is working with the protesters to find a different way to get food for them.
