High School Students Create Culinary Masterpieces
High school students had to create culinary masterpieces including an appetizer, entree, and dessert, in only an hour's time.
If that's not enough, they were only allowed to use two portable burners. The competition gives students the chance to show off what they've learned.
Ken Wasco of the Michigan Restaurant Association said: "Were trying to build an opportunity for young people to get careers in our industry. Discover the opportunities, there's just a host of opportunities that are available to young people. But importantly we want to connect the operators across the state to young people that are interested in this as discipline."
The winner of the competition will go on to compete in the national event, which happens a month from now in Baltimore.
