Three people were taken to the hospital as a result of a crash between a school bus and SUV in Delta Township Thursday morning.

The accident happened at around 7:20AM as the school bus was driving away from the Hayes Middle School on Nixon Road. Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich tells us that a southbound Jeep Cherokee went out of its lane and struck the side of the bus. The bus contained Grand Ledge high school students. One student was taken to Sparrow Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff says the driver and a passenger in the Jeep were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff says slippery roads were a factor in the accident. Another bus was quickly brought to take the remaining high school students to school.
