When a couple of kids from Jackson return to school this fall, they're going to have quite a story to tell about what they did over summer vacation.

The Soper family was in the middle of a trip to visit all five Great Lakes in one day. Adam, Sarah, 7-year-old Quinn and 6-year-old Reese started in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at 7:30 a.m. Thursday to hit up Lake Ontario.

From there, it was off to Port Dover, Ontario for a quick swim in Lake Erie around 8:30 a.m. They got back in the car and drove to Pinconning to get to Lake Huron, arriving there just after 2:30 p.m.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, they were back in the car, making their way to Wilderness State Park where they will cross Lake Michigan off the list. From there, they'll cross the Mackinac Bridge and head to Brimly State Park on Lake Superior to finish the trip.

Sarah tells us swimming in all five Great Lakes has always been on her husband's bucket list-- and then he got the crazy notion to attempt it all in one day. Sarah says it took some convincing to get her and the kids on board--- but they eventually decided to embrace it and make it a family adventure.
