The annual fireworks display over the Detroit River is billed as a salute to the excitement surrounding Detroit's revitalization.

The theme of Monday night's Ford Fireworks is "Detroit! Right Now!!"

The show by Zambelli Fireworks is produced by The Parade Co. and will include more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the river between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. It's the event's 59th year. Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. has been the title sponsor since 2013.

The city of Detroit and the state of Michigan are enforcing access restrictions to Hart Plaza in downtown and Belle Isle in the Detroit River. Bicyclists and pedestrians are welcome on Belle Isle throughout the day, but vehicles won't be allowed onto the island park until after 2 p.m.
