Experience Downtown Eaton Rapids
Eaton Rapids is home to several quaint local businesses: find the best flowers, plants and arrangements at Hastay's Greenhouse, score vintage and antique pieces in the downtown business district, and grab a cup of Joe at the Evelyn Bay Coffee Company.
The district also has a traditional hardware store, pharmacy, and convenience store for everyday needs, as well as a home decor shop that offers decorating services. For shops you can't find anywhere else, visit the Eaton Rapids business district.

Local Recreation, Events, and Culture
No matter the time of year, residents and visitors of Eaton Rapids are treated to an abundance of local events and recreational opportunities. With two rivers, three islands, several footbridges and fishing spots, fans of water sports will treat Eaton Rapids as their main destination. The city has one of the largest paddle clubs in the state.
Residents can enjoy the Community Gardens, a wonderful place for apartment owners to grow their own produce - plots can be obtained by application and are no cost to residents. The Farmers Market runs every Saturday from the end of June through September, with fresh corn, apples, and jams from local vendors.
Eaton Rapids comes alive with downtown events: from parades to its annual Concerts in the Park series at Island Park to the Eaton Rapids Amphitheater that welcomes local musicians during Michigan summers, the community is always buzzing with activity.
For those looking for a bit of culture, Eaton Rapids is home to the Eaton Rapids City Library and Historical Society. The city of Eaton Rapids was founded in 1837 and became a city in 1881 - while it continues to move into the future, the city's values and quality of yesteryear have remained in tact.
Eaton Rapids Public Schools
The city of Eaton Rapids Public Schools provide diverse, innovative programs for its students, which are designed to celebrate local points of pride. The tight-knit community of families, along with dedicated faculty and staff in excellent facilities, set Eaton Rapids Public Schools apart from the rest. Each of the schools are configured according to grade level; along with Early Childhood programs and Kindergarten, the district breaks into these grade levels: Lockwood Elementary School (Grades 1-2, Montessori, and ECDD Programs), Greyhound Intermediate School (Grades 3-5), Eaton Rapids Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Eaton Rapids High School (Grades 9-12).
Eaton Rapids Medical Center
Affiliated with McLaren-Greater Lansing, the Eaton Rapids Medical Center provides exceptional health care in a convenient, personal environment. ERMC features 20 licensed beds for patients, and recently announced the opening of the Island City Assisted Living center. Located directly across the street from ERMC, the facility offers 24-hour assisted care services.
In 2009, a $6.2 million project was completed on the Emergency Department, which was designed for privacy, comfort, and personal attention. The Emergency Department features 10 private rooms, a decontamination room, two trauma rooms, and isolation room, and a family quiet room.
