CAHS Run/Walk for the Animals
CAPITAL AREA HUMANE SOCIETY PRESENTS
THE RUN & WALK FOR THE ANIMALS
LANSING, MI—Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) is hosting its annual 5K Run & Walk for the Animals on Saturday, September 17, at Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge, rain or shine! One of CAHS's largest fundraisers, this unique event is for everyone who is interested in having fun while supporting the animals and programs of the Capital Area Humane Society.
Two route options are available, with the 5K course taking participants through the quaint neighborhoods of Grand ledge, and the 1 mile walk leisurely winding through the scenic wooded trails of Fitzgerald Park. Participants are encouraged to bring their dog, family and friends. The 5K run/walk and 1 mile walk start time is 12pm.
The event activities include the 5K run or walk, 1 mile walk, vendor expo, agility course, obstacle course, doggy kissing booth, police dog demonstration, doggy ice cream eating competition and much, much more. In addition to these activities, Chris Cakes of Food Network fame will be there flipping all-you-can-eat pancakes to the human and canine attendees!
There is no registration fee; however, walkers and runners will take home incentives based on their own total of pledges raised, starting with an event T-shirt and CAHS bandana for the $75 level. Other incentives include a pop-up doggy travel water bowl, a CAHS soft-sided cooler, CAHS pop-up table, a CAHS Jacket and a flat screen TV. Registration options include visiting the website at www.cahs-lansing.org, and clicking on the "Run & Walk" tab or registering on the day of the event starting at 9:30am at Fitzgerald Park.
100% of all funds raised at this event goes directly to support the more than 6,000 animals CAHS for which CAHS provides food, water, shelter, veterinary care and love every year.
The mission of the Capital Area Humane Society is to promote the humane treatment of companion animals through protection, placement, education, and example. We are looking forward to seeing the participants and volunteers help us further our mission during the 2011 Run and Walk for the Animals!
