Silver Bells at Troppo - A Family Tradition

  • Print

Four years ago began a new tradition in our family. Just months after getting married and becoming an official resident of the Lansing area, my husband and I began the tradition of spending Silver Bells with his cousin Brian and partner Rion at Troppo. The first year, Troppo was still on the south corner of Michigan and Washington Square, where Edmund's currently sits.

Since then, we've made a point to continue our tradition by enjoying the ambiance of Silver Bells inside the refuge of Troppo. We've only missed one occasion together, when we had tickets to see Paul Simon in Detroit two years ago.

My favorite year of this tradition was in 2010, when we had one of the round booths at the new Troppo location:

This spot was perfect for watching the people outside as well as seeing all of the excitement inside the restaurant.

Tonight we continue our Silver Bells tradition with Brian and Rion, and I am looking forward to next year when we can start to bring our daughter Stella along for the fun!
