When You Love It, Buy It in Every Color
I can't say enough wonderful things about the Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Ruffle Trim Dress at Target. The stock photos here hardly do the patterns or style justice, which is why I'm glad I came upon this dress in the store a couple weeks ago.
I've already lamented in a previous blog post that my post-baby body isn't agreeing well with my vintage summer dress collection, so my usual surplus of summer fashions has taken a hit this year.
At $25, this is an affordable summer dress option that works well at the office with a cardigan or blazer, and also at a summer concert with fun jewelry.
The first pattern I fell in love with at the store was the top left "teal" style, but unfortunately they only had a small left. I ended up with the tie-dye "black magic" style and black and white "black" print in my cart. At another trip to Target, I decided the floral "royal blue" print on the bottom left should be added to the collection, found they restocked the first pattern I fell in love with, AND that the dresses were marked down to $15.
What I love about this dress (and what isn't very apparent on the website) is how the little peplum detail and elastic at the waist hits just at the smallest part of the body, creating a nice shape instead of being too boxy or flowy. It's also a great length where I don't feel as though it's too short, which is a typical problem with any Juniors style of sundress - at least for someone who doesn't like shorter dresses/the inevitable summer breeze Marilyn moments.
Just like my perchance for collecting the Merona Braided Strap Gladiator sandals from Target each summer, this Mossimo is yet another affordable item I'm happy to fill my closet with this year.
