Craft Pick: Decorative Paper and Bead Ball Ornaments
With just a week until my due date, my husband and I have been in full-on nesting mode. Laundry is getting washed, diapers are unpacked and organized, the car seat base is hooked up, and we've been adding some finishing touches to the baby's nursery.
One of my favorite gifts that we received at my family's shower was from my crafty aunt and cousin, who created these beautiful decorative ornaments in colors inspired by the baby's room:
Stars have become a big theme in the baby's room and clothing because our future daughter's name is Stella, which means "star" in latin.
Much like any other type of decorative ornament, these will look beautiful suspended from the ceiling, stacked in a large votive, or just as my aunt and cousin arranged them on this silver platter. At first I wasn't sure where these would go in the nursery, but by repurposing my Target Shabby Chic nightstand that had been in our relatively unused extra bedroom upstairs, it provided the perfect spot for these ornaments and a star and moon picture frame we found at Pottery Barn Kids:
This craft would be beautiful for any occasion - whether as a wedding centerpiece, an addition to a coffee table setup, or for the holidays. Jacki Hill describes how to do this craft in her piece on The Saturday Evening Post's website.
