Taste of Fall: Smoked Turkey Sandwich at Fork in the Road
It's been at least a couple of months since I've been to Fork in the Road, having enjoyed the food truck scene (including their Trailer Park'd "Slow" Fast Food) throughout the summer.
But when Stephanie mentioned today that she had a hankering for their Ballin' Ass Tacos, I was quick to oblige a visit to this Lansing spot.
The staff at Fork in the Road alerted us to some of the newest menu items for the season, and I zeroed in on the Smoked Turkey sandwich that included pumpkin, feta, and lemon. The bread itself was a homemade bread with pumpkin seeds. I was sold.
The sandwich is quite a beast on the plate, but was very easy to eat when sliced in half.
The tender bits of smoked turkey mixed with the smooth sweetness of the pumpkin mash and creamy feta cheese made for a perfect fall sandwich. It tastes like the day after Thanksgiving, with all of the warm flavors and ingredients blending together like the best leftovers you could ask for.
I'm not sure how long this particular sandwich will be on the menu, but it's worth a try this season. If you're a lover of all things fall, you won't be disappointed.
