Song Pick: "Born of Frustration", James
I'll admit that I'm only familiar with one song by the artist James - that would be "Laid" - but even then it's the cover of his song by Matt Nathanson that has led me to him.
Still, when driving my car earlier this week, the song "Born of Frustration" by James came on. I only caught the end of it, but I loved how much it reminded me of the New Radicals and U2.
Giving it another listen via YouTube has made me gain even more appreciation for the artist whose biggest hit defined him in my eyes and ears for such a long time.
It seems that one of the most wonderful things about discovering old music and movies is that they are made completely brand new by virtue of being new to me.
I keep saying that it's time for a 90s revival, an appreciation for the music of the decade. One Sirius/XM station has been replaying a Hootie and the Blowfish concert from 1996, so that's been a start.
Unearthing this gem from James 20 years later is just adding fuel to my 90s fire.
