When it comes to Valentine's Day, it seems criminal to not give in to wearing something red, or pink, or both! As a kid, Valentine's Day meant busting out the heart-print tights or socks and scrunchies. But now as an adult, faced with February 14th on a Tuesday, the day is less Care Bears valentines and bite-sized chocolates in boxes. Instead, a pop of pink or red adds a festive touch and recognition to the holiday without going too cupid.
Today I'm taking advantage of my numerous pink accessories and putting them all together with a basic black outfit, keeping things simple for the day portion of February 14th.
For tonight, going out to our favorite date night restaurant The Knight Cap in Lansing, I'm wearing a red floral dress from Banana Republic that was found on sale after the holiday clearance commenced. The richer jewel tones seem appropriate for a romantic evening out, especially considering the colder temperatures make pastels feel too springy.
