Don't You Step on my Blue Suede Shoes
I've already written about my affinity for TOMS shoes, but I must admit that I've never ventured further than the classic style they've offered all of these years. To look at the TOMS website, one would see that the company offers a slew of styles, from open-toed wedges to lace-up styles and even boots.
But nothing has put a flutter in my TOMS-loving heart more than the announcement that the company would soon be making flats. And today, February 1st, they have made their entrance into the world of fashionable, charitable footwear.
Like a kid on Christmas morning, I visited the TOMS site to see the array of ballet flats - oh, but that's after I gave TOMS my email address last month to alert me when the shoes would be available in the first place. But no matter.
My eyes zeroed in on the Blue Eliana pair - a cobalt blue suede. Not to mention the fact that the inside of the ballet flats are in leopard print.
I'm hoping to try the shoes on in person before committing, and as it is, the on-again off-again nature of this winter has made me worrisome about wearing anything suede-like or susceptible to the dampness of melting snow. But still, these new TOMS ballet flats make me yearn for the sunny days of spring and excited for summer.
Besides, there's no doubt I could go anywhere in these babies without breaking into my own rendition of Elvis's classic tune about his blue suede kicks.
